Ralf Tooten is a German photographer and visual artist based in Bangkok, Thailand, since 2003. He studied architectural photography under Clemens Hartzenbusch in Cologne, Germany, from 1975 to 1978. Tooten has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning portraiture, documentary work, architectural imagery, and socially engaged public installations. His work explores spirituality, urban transformation, labor, and identity through long-term projects such as Eyes of Wisdom, Bangkok Noir, Naked Truth, and Asian Workers Covered. Selected exhibitions include Eyes of Wisdom (The National Gallery of Thailand, 2004); R.C.A. (Spanish-American Art Museum, Buenos Aires, 2013); and the 1st Bangkok Art Biennale (2018). His works are held in public collections including the Berlinische Galerie, Berlin, National Gallery of Malaysia.

รัล์ฟ ทูเทิน เกิดที่เมืองฮอมแบร์ค อัม นีเดอร์ไรน์ ประเทศเยอรมนี เขาเป็นช่างภาพและศิลปินทัศนศิลป์ชาวเยอรมันผู้ปักหลักทำงานอยู่ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร ประเทศไทย มาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2546 รัล์ฟศึกษาวิชาการถ่ายภาพสถาปัตยกรรมกับเคลเมนส์ ฮาร์ทเซนบุช (Clemens Hartzenbusch) ที่เมืองโคโลญ ประเทศเยอรมนี ช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2518 ถึง พ.ศ. 2521 เขาสร้างสรรค์ผลงานหลากหลายแนว ตั้งแต่ภาพบุคคล งานสารคดี ภาพสถาปัตยกรรม ไปจนถึงศิลปะจัดวางในพื้นที่สาธารณะที่มีส่วนร่วมกับสังคม ผลงานของเขามุ่งเน้นการสำรวจเรื่องจิตวิญญาณ การเปลี่ยนผ่านของเมือง แรงงาน และอัตลักษณ์ ผ่านโครงการระยะยาวอย่าง Eyes of Wisdom, Bangkok Noir, Naked Truth และ Asian Workers Covered สำหรับนิทรรศการเด่น ๆ ของเขา ได้แก่ Eyes of Wisdom (หอศิลป์แห่งชาติ ประเทศไทย, พ.ศ. 2547); R.C.A.
